Coaching Staff
Head Coach Patrick Juckem
Patrick Juckem (pronounced YUCK-um) enters his third season at the helm of the Kohawks. In his first year he led the Kohawks to an Iowa Conference championship and was named Coach of the Year. A 1995 graduate of Lawrence University, Juckem served as an assistant coach the previous six years at his alma mater.
Last season Juckem led the Kohawks to a 19-8 record. In 2005-06, the Kohawks were 20-7, the most wins since 1975 for a Coe men's team, while being named coach of the year, Juckem also produced the Iowa Conference Player of the Year in Mike Kilburg.
As a full-time associate head coach over his last three seasons at Lawrence, Juckem helped lead the Vikings to a 62-17 record. Lawrence has won back-to-back Midwest Conference titles and conference tournament titles.
Prior to serving at Lawrence, Juckem was the head boy's varsity coach at Manitowoc Roncalli High School where he led the Jets to a 46-24 record over three seasons. During that time, the Jets won their first conference championship in 21 years and appeared in two state tournaments. Juckem was named the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Coach of the Year following the 1998-99 season.
Juckem received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Lawrence in 1995. He will receive his master's degree in secondary education from Viterbo University in July.
Juckem and his wife Elissa reside in Cedar Rapids with their two children, Emmett and Gavin. _______________________________________________________________________________
Assistant Coach Aaron Thompson
Coach Thompson enters his second season on the staff with the Kohawks. Thompson spent the previous four years on staff at Minnesota-Morris. Before taking the position with Morris, he served as an assistant at Mayville State and Texas Lutheran.
Thompson played his college ball at Mayville State where he left as the fourth leading scorer in school history. He was a three-time All-American and was twice named an Academic All-American while leading Mayville State to three NDCAC Conference championships.
He was inducted into the Mayville State Athletics Hall of Fame October 13, 2006.

Assistant Coach Andrew George
Coach George enters his first season as a full time assistant coach after spending three years as a student assistant coach. He led the Kohawks JV squad to a 21-9 overall record and 17-5 IIAC record the past two seasons.
George played high school basketball at Pomeroy-Palmer where he helped the Knights to two state championships and a 64 game winning streak. He was a first-team all-conference selection his senior year and was named Academic All-State.
